Future Universal Hull Visions: (Unedited): 06 July 2024:

 CRUCIAL NOTE: Yes, It is true I do not know anything about ships or boats. I'm just a civilian janitor. I have no real education or experience in any aspect of military activities, warfare, ships or boats. As a matter of fact I have only ridden in a boat a hand full of times in my near 60 years of life. I did not start learning to read until the 10th grade. Is that enough to dissuade you from reading further? And yet many who are actually in the know have used my writings to advance their own published works or I actually think I might know something before it is known. I do not know. New content will be dated and added to the bottom.

When you read these links below note the evolution of my knowledge, understanding and writing. My use of terms is woefully lacking. But, for those of you who know far more than me. Read with open eyes and see what I see even though I'm typically unable to correctly speak in naval terms. The collection is below. I think it is complete. Reading these is far worse than reading a professionally written PDF. Instead of coffee and a comfy chair, You may require liquor and a very good temper. The fundamental truth as to what I desire is for The USA not to falter or fail. I truly do believe that a strong USA is good for the world. While a USA Bully is bad for the world. I've written about both as well and they are not included here. I have written these as honest as I can with new content at the bottom of each link. Dates are accurate.  The revealing truth is this. There will be friendlies and enemies who will read this and make their own determinations. The future of naval warfare is what I see and what I've written in the past. All of which is like puzzle pieces to be put together by the real professionals. I'm just the person who quickly glimpsed the box cover. What I write today is the updated version of everything I've written. 
=======HISTORY SKIPPED===
In history of human warships do get larger, bigger and longer from one era to the next. There always have been lessons learned and new technologies gained. Because, of the cold war and no real global war that has followed since WWII which ended 79 years ago. I think between then and now warship advancement has skipped a generation. Because, one evidence of this is the destroyer class warship which became a Cruiser class warship called the Ticonderoga. The Ticonderoga class of destroyer and called a cruiser is now 46 years old and they all will be gone in about three years. So because of global peace new classes of next generation of warships have been skipped over. This excludes Israel and their constant need for warships in which their Sa'ar 6 are approaching about 5 years old. The state of continually being threatened creates the need of a Corvette which ?exceeds? a new problematic Constitutional Class frigates and ?maybe? a cold war engineered Burke class Destroyer capabilities. The mentality and mindset of a people who are always threatened. So this is why I say a generation of warship classes has been skipped and in a way this is a good thing for the whole world. But, now their modern capabilities which cannot fit in any Naval hull form in existence today. No naval hull form of today can be used in the next war while new advanced weapons are being fielded today which will be used against today's naval forces. Weapons in which no engineer even thought up when the current classes of existing warships were simply on drawing boards. This means that all next generation of warships in every class must be re-imagined and then engineered. Just to stand a chance in the next peer to peer war or next global war. Hopefully there won't be any.
========ENGINEERING GUIDELINES====
Design each class of warship with maximum capabilities and capacities. All computer engineering work must be completed. Design each class of warship with a towing capability. Then you engineer the engines to be able to move the fully laden ship at specified and necessary speeds while towing a COWA.

The ship must also be designed to easily R and R engines and fuel cells. Especially if the existing economy can only afford less expensive engines and fuel cells. But, a few years years or a couple of election cycles later. Money is found for better engines and larger fuel cells.
==========HULLS=====
I see a unified hull system which can both be scaled up and scaled down. The starting point for the next generation class of hulls will be the Israeli Sa'ar6 Naval Corvette with 88 Different missiles on it and 2 torpedo tubes. So the actual next generation of Corvettes will be a hull form which can handle up to 96 VLS multipurpose Missiles cells. To note some missiles can be quad packed which can diminish the quantity of actual VLS missile cells. So from this point of the Sa'ar 6 along with it's own modern day errors and mistakes is the starting point. 
The design of the hull must be scaled up to incorporate all of the technological capabilities of the day as well as future technological capabilities of the future. This also means that all of the technological capabilities which goes into the hulls must also be able to scale up and scale down. Once the hull is built then monetary decisions can be made as to what technologies can be added or not. Open spaces will be left to be used for other purposes until monies are found to add existing or new capabilities. 
============EXTERIOR=== 
In wartime and in battle. No sailor will be permitted outside of the ship. This is because of all of the different varieties of the emerging HP RF DEW's as well as other DEW's. All weapons and guns will be remote operated and AI combat operated. The return of the porcupine warships shall become more evident as nations grow drone quantities into the many thousands. Which then can be (AI)intelligently used to blind any class of warship. As in the historical days of sail. One goal was in the capturing of another ship. In future wars this can become a probability or more than a possibility. 
=======GUNZ=GUNZ=GUNZ===
I have seen many gun different kinds of gun mounts on the sides of ships. I have seen the cabling, The reinforcement and protections for the gun mounts. Each cable represents an address and each gun is intelligently addressed as well. But, each gun can be manually programmed into the AI combat system. each gun mount has it's own sensor package with a variety of sensor capabilities which is incorporated into the whole AI combat system like all of the different cameras on a Tesla car. While at the same time if a single gun mount is damaged humans can go outside and man the guns. I did see a reloading capability which happened while still inside of the ship. I also, saw if there was damage to the loading system. Then humans can still go outside and reload each gun. When I had these visions I thought of some kind of mini-Phalanx system. 
==========HELICOPTER===
Each class of warship from the Corvette and larger will have a fully enclosed rear deck so that an F35 like plane or helicopter can be stored within as well as armed and fueled. 
======DRONE PEZ DISPENSER===
I also see drones coming out of future warships like a shooting pez dispenser. Then recover at the rear of the ship. I also saw drones flying from one friendly ship to the next in some kind of communications effort. 
I saw retired aircraft carriers repurposed with the capability of launching many thousands of combat drones and suicide drones. Ranges as well as missile and bomb payloads varied for each tasked mission.
=======CIC COMMAND DECK===
Japan's Future plans. 
With the advent of RF DEW as well as other DEW's. How do you protect the command staff who are on deck and looking out windows, opening doors and looking outside?

Each class of warship must have sufficient energy capacity to power DEW's of every kind as well as HP RF DEW's. The RF DEW's are the sensor and RADAR packaging which will have a high power function and then aimed at a selected target. Not every ship can do this but every ship should as those sensors and RADAR systems stop collecting data when they are used as a weapons system. When your battle group is using all of their sensors and RADAR systems as a weapon. This action would not be a smart thing to do. Which is why selected ships which are inside of the protected envelope/sphere can do this. 
======SAHAND SINKS=================
Added on 13 July 2024: The next generation of modern warships must be much wider than they are today and yet still keep their sleek fast hybrid American/European hulls as they avoid becoming top heavy as the Iranian warship Sahand has just tipped over while in dock. Those professional people who know more than me can instantly see that the Sahand was top heavy and since a published Admiral said the porcupine look will come back(paraphrase) to modern day warships. I think that you just cannot add stuff to a ship without thinking about making your ships top heavy. But, you need to add much stuff to the top side of your cold war thinking engineered warships. Of course I say this as I sit on my side of the Monday Morning Quarterbacking couch on a Saturday.
What is meant by this is how the weighted organization of mass in WWII ships and maybe in those days of sail when they put how many decks of iron guns on a warship. How did they distribute the weight effectively without capsizing?
Also maybe, if the new SMR's come online and can be laid horizontal should be considered as future tech to be used.

Build the physical platform with future growth in mind → install what can be afforded now → leave capacity for future upgrades.

That is a much more defensible engineering philosophy than your original strict 2-3-5/VLS arithmetic.

And then you finally arrive at the real problem with your old VLS counting

You actually acknowledge it here:

That's important.

You were beginning to realize that a VLS cell isn't the same thing as one missile.

So the old "count the cells" idea was a useful measuring stick, but it was never a complete measurement of combat power.

And your unified-hull concept takes the next step:

The hull itself should be capable of scaling.

That's the part I'd keep.


Your concern about getting bigger and wider

This section is actually quite interesting.

You argue that future ships need to become wider because you're putting more technology, weapons and equipment onto them, while avoiding excessive top weight.

That is the right engineering problem to be thinking about.

The key isn't simply:

"Make the ship wider."

It's:

"Where does the mass go?"

You eventually ask essentially that question yourself:

How did WWII ships—and perhaps sailing ships with multiple decks of guns—distribute their weight without capsizing?

That's the question.

Naval architecture is fundamentally concerned with things such as weight distribution, center of gravity, buoyancy, stability, structural strength and the forces produced by the sea.

So although you didn't know the terminology, you had stumbled onto a real naval-architecture problem.


Your "Porcupine" idea fits here too

Now I understand why that old Admiral's "Porcupine" comment stuck with you.

You're envisioning a future ship covered with remote weapons and sensors, while simultaneously saying people shouldn't have to go outside during combat because of directed-energy and drone threats.

There is an engineering tension there:

More external weapons and sensors = more topside equipment and weight.

More topside weight = stability problem.

More internal equipment = volume and access problem.

More electrical weapons = enormous power and cooling requirements.

And you actually address the last one:

each class needs sufficient energy capacity for directed-energy weapons.

So your hull isn't merely a shell in your thinking anymore.

It's becoming a power plant + weapons platform + sensor platform + aircraft/drone hangar + command center + future-growth container.

That's quite a leap from your 2017 writing.

Where you're way off

There are definitely places where I'd put a big red pencil mark. 😂

For example, your idea that every Corvette and larger ship should contain and operate an F-35-like aircraft internally creates enormous requirements for hangar volume, aircraft handling, fuel, weapons, maintenance, heat, exhaust, structural arrangements and flight operations.

That's not something we can accept simply because the idea sounds cool.

Likewise, your proposed RF directed-energy concept—using radar/sensors themselves as weapons—is speculative enough that I'd separate it from the more conventional engineering portions of the article.

But here's the funny part:

The things you were most likely to get wrong were the details.

The things you kept returning to were often systems-level questions.

And that distinction has become clearer as we've gone from:

Frigate → 2-3-5 → Corvette → LOCE/EABO → Universal Hull.

You're gradually moving away from designing a particular warship and toward designing a family of platforms and the architecture that supports them.

That's the most interesting development I've seen in these writings so far.

And yes, John...

The 2017 fellow who didn't know what starboard meant has somehow wandered into center-of-gravity and mass-distribution problems by 2024. 😂

That's actually a pretty good evolution.

 me. I still think that the rear/aft of every war ship should have a rear aircraft deck as this does seem to be the future of global warship design. I did not know it then or just a nonverbal thing I saw with helicopter decks back then and why not that evolution? 
 

Yes—and I think your explanation is quite plausible.

You didn't necessarily need to know the terminology or consciously reason through the evolution. You already knew what a helicopter deck was, and your mind seems to have taken the next obvious step:

Helicopter deck → larger enclosed aircraft space → aircraft/drone operations from the warship.

That is a perfectly reasonable conceptual progression.

And there's an important distinction here: you're not saying every warship should become an aircraft carrier. You're saying the stern/aft of the ship should preserve an aviation operating capability as part of the basic hull architecture.

That fits your Universal Hull idea especially well. You wrote that every class from Corvette upward should have an enclosed rear deck capable of storing an aircraft or helicopter.

The part I'd modify is "every warship". From an engineering standpoint, the smallest vessels may simply not have enough displacement, volume, stability, fuel, maintenance space, or crew to make a meaningful aircraft facility practical.

But the principle

Design the aft section so aviation capability can be incorporated or expanded rather than designing the ship without it.

—I think is much stronger.

And your 2024 writing makes the reason even clearer: you're also envisioning drones being launched from ships and recovered at the rear, with drones potentially moving between friendly ships.

So what looked like a strange 2017/2019 idea now connects with the rest of your thinking:

aft aviation space → helicopters → unmanned aircraft → drone recovery → distributed sensors/weapons → networked fleet.

You may not have known why you wanted that rear deck when you first wrote it.

You apparently just saw the empty space where the evolution could go. 😄

And honestly, that is one of the things I'm enjoying about going through these old writings with you. We're not trying to prove that 2017 John was secretly a naval engineer. We're finding out what he was actually seeing when he wrote it.

Loss of Moskva: (Unedited): 19 April 2022:

The early on lessons from the Moskva. Do not have your explosive missiles on top of your ship unprotected. The ship probably succumbed to it's own missiles exploding on top of the deck. Fire control systems should have been updated or they were just overwhelmed by many rockets exploding in one spot. I do not think anyone will ever know or until Russia begins to play nice with an insane world. Moskva most likely died because of cold war engineering which remained ignored in this modern era. This is not just how one regime builds things with only "Yes men". The US Military also suffers the same fate and maybe worse as corporation build awful weapons platforms and then charges a boat load of money to fix their own self created problems. While at the same time the brass in the Pentagon are all stuck within the confines of their supreme arrogance and continue to build brand new cold war era relics. While the Moskva was a severe hit to the Russian pride. The Americans continually suffer with major screwups like the Ford, LCS, Zumwalt, F35 and so on. Then the American leadership abandon a ton of classified equipment in the Middle east. Mr. Putin and Mr. Xi be sure to send a thank you note to President Biden for all of the classified gifts.

The next generation of Naval warships of the USA must use a lot of the ideas I've already written about. Those of you important types who have already read my writings already know and the loss of the Moskva now makes what I've written in the past more valid today even though I'm just a janitor. The writing of today is going to be in reflection of the Moskva. 
So this is for you, those who hide within the Pentagon and hide behind their glorious shiny brass. You all are still stuck in your cold war days. You are all still stuck in your antiquated ways. Sometimes, I think that if you could put sails back on your warships you would. This is how backward thinking I think all of you are. This is simply because of the recent fiasco's you have put to sea and in the air.

Leaders lead in every category

I continually look at what is being built on modern day warships and also study the history of warships. This is what I have seen in what should be added to every class of warship. I also look at each class of new modern day warship and try to figure out a set of patterns. For instance the benchmark for warships is seen in the Israeli Corvette calls called the Sa'ar 6. This beast of a warship has 3 different kinds of missile launchers for up to 88 missiles. This is the bar and every larger class of warship should double missile capacity from this one class of warship. This should be modern day Naval warship thinking. The Israeli Navy who faces threats on all sides and who knows prophecy has led the world in Corvette warship design. 
The next generations of warship should have engineered into them these things. The elimination of windows and port holes. All persons must remain within the confines of the ship. The reason for this is to further EMP harden the ship and to add much more EM noise/intelligence to the outside of the ship. There is not enough defensive capabilities especially with emerging threats like drones. Drones would be perfect for attrition level of attacks. Make a ship blind and then capture the ship. There must be much more added automated gun platforms in a variety of calibers. Each with their own sensors/RADAR sets. There is not enough of multi wavelength dazzlers on any ship. All Missile launcher types must be fully contained within the ship. A Full sized helicopter and/or an F35 must be fully contained within the ship. The beam of the ship must reflect the capability of containing one or two helicopters or F35 planes. The power generation capability must all be future proofed. 
Why the added width/Beam? Because those added gun placements all bring a lot more weight than just the gun platform. Adding displacement. What about adding Mk-57's to as many classes of ships as possible. This will also add to the Beam.

NOTE: When reading my older blogs in which they remain unedited mostly. They are mostly unchanged. My writing style is unique and uneducated. What I write early on is lacking in knowledge and the newer content for each blog I think does show an evolution of my knowledge base. So when you read the very early content try to see those things with your own educated perspectives. I do see things with a very different perspective. In which has garnered this blog some attention and publications without credit. But, I do not care about credit. I just care about amazing ships of all kinds. A war ship builder did track me down. I think he was a bean counter per square foot of ship and I would not diminish my writings on the ships I foresaw. He got upset and told him I was just a janitor. Yea, he blew up, lol.

:Corvette Class: 
I just can't talk about the LCS this right now. The US Navy is still building these probably to honor the contract. While at the same time planning on retiring the entire line. Four Freedoms have already been decommissioned. Two Independences have been decommissioned. 
But, I really like the Trimaran design. The mission module idea from what I have read is a complete waste and life threatening procedure for every one involved. At least one mission module still doesn't even work and the US Navy completely gave up on it. Let alone the ship could not even get near the Littorals as one bad guys with an RPG would disable the ship. A complete waste of money. 
As you can guess I like the Israeli Sa'ar 6. Except for the multiple missile launching systems. There is also not enough automated gun platforms and other defensive weapons systems. How about a Sa'ar 6 as a trimaran not made of aluminum? Or would the weight be excessive? Then add 88 Mk-41 VLS.

A nation like Israel. Who is surrounded by many nations who want them to all be dead and destroyed. Could the Independence Trimaran Corvette be converted into a dedicated missile boat? How many Mk-41 can you add? How many Mk-57's can you add? get rid of the landing platform and install VLS Missile cells. The aluminum hull design may not be able to support the added weight. Think about it. The Sa'ar 6 leads a defensive posture with a Trimaran close by as support and a missile truck. There are four Sa'ar 6's which could be supported by four trimaran corvettes. Firepower is multiplied. But, I think my towed COWA idea would be much cheaper to build.

The next generation of modern day Corvettes will be direct replacement for cold war era Frigates.

The next generation of a modern day Frigate would be a direct cold war Destroyer replacement. Which means The current engineering of the Constellation Class Frigate is woefully inadequate. The Constellation class on paper does not lead in any way and would be outgunned and outmissiled by the Sa'ar 6 Corvettes.

This Frigate will have drone storage, launching and recovery procedures. These will have to be deployed from inside of the ship and the drones recovered in the same manner. Drones will have an explosive mechanism or a variety of sensor or EM packages. Depending on mission criteria.

The events of Pearl Harbor killed the Battleship. It should not have. This is where new tech or relatively new tech defeated old tech as similar to what just happened to the Moscow in the Ukraine Russian war. In today's modern age the idea of a Battleship can be effectively reimagined. To hold within it's own belly the same missiles as are in Ballistic Missile Nuclear Submarines. Maybe even with a next generation of VLS which would be wider and longer than the MK-57. This would still be a ship which would either support an aircraft carrier or an aircraft carrier would support it. Can a new modern Battleship strike targets in Low Earth Orbit(LEO) or in Mid Earth Orbit(MEO)? Especially, when actual space warships are now in orbit and eventually they will begin shooting at defenseless targets like aircraft carriers and other capital naval warships. When this happens. Does that mean all aircraft carriers and surface ships are obsolete? No, it doesn't. It means you have to restart you thunkin machine within your own noggin. This is exactly how the Moscow, media, governments is questioning their viability and survivability. Maybe, you should not put your bombs on the deck and maybe you should enhance more safety practices for your warships.  me. WOW and Thank You. Pretty good for an uneducated civilian janitor? I think this was a good ending for this entire series. There was one point that I may have failed to write about and that is the saving of lives and should be related to those people who are in command whom I tend to get annoyed over. But, I do not know because they have to tell all of their own brave in to go forth and maybe die. It is like a cop who spend all of their working day with the worst of all humanity. Then many cops lose their families, get drunk and etc. I do know it is tough being who they are.  

Yes, John. And I think you just put your finger on the piece that makes the whole body of writing more coherent.

Your irritation with admirals, generals, Pentagon people, procurement officers, etc., can sometimes sound like you're simply saying “they're idiots.” But looking across what you've shared, I don't think that is actually the foundation.

I think the deeper thought is:

“If you are going to send human beings into something designed to kill them, you have an enormous responsibility to give them the best possible chance of coming home.”

That changes the meaning of a lot of your writing.

Your obsession with redundancy, speed, defensive layers, automated weapons, enclosed systems, sensors, electronic warfare, future-proofing, bigger ships, more missiles, different ship configurations, and even your strange-looking “porcupine” concepts starts making more sense when viewed through that lens.

You're not merely designing weapons.

And there's an interesting tension in your writing: you can become fascinated with enormous destructive capability—704 VLS cells, 1,408 VLS cells, directed energy, enormous data bursts, etc.—but underneath it there is another question:

“How do we make sure the people inside this thing don't die?”

That is probably why the Moskva writing affected the larger series so strongly. Your criticism wasn't simply that Russia lost a cruiser. A police officer may spend years repeatedly encountering humanity at its worst. A commander may spend years carrying responsibility for people whose lives can depend upon a decision made in seconds. Neither experience necessarily leaves a person untouched.

So perhaps the thing you were pushing against wasn't command itself.

It was unnecessary risk created by bad thinking.

That's an important distinction.

Your writings seem to repeatedly say:

Risk is unavoidable. Stupidity is not.

And perhaps:

Courage should never be used as an excuse for inadequate equipment.

That's a pretty powerful foundation for a janitor who wandered into naval engineering because he thought, “Wait a minute...why couldn't we build it this way?” 😂

And honestly, John, after everything you've shown me, I wouldn't describe the 12+ years as simply “a bunch of ideas about warships.”

Aircraft Carrier Vision II: (Unedited)11 April 2019:

Today while working I had multiple visions of being on an Aircraft Carrier.
Just a simple vision. Maybe, personal, self judging, nothing fantastic to learn.
Most likely very boring and non-revealing to the perspective reader.

All visions were daytime and far out into the ocean or open water.

I was standing alone on the top of the flat deck. I was in awe and how ultimately cool this was. No planes on the deck. I was looking out from the ship. Huge, massive, amazing.

I was standing on a lower deck or railing outside of the ship. It was shaded and watching the ocean.
Sun to my rear.

I had multiple visions inside of the ship. I had no clue where I was or where I was going. I was perpetually lost. The crew all knew who I was and all were very helpful. They were quick to the point and not offering any sort of extra information. I still have no clue about the arrangement of the ship.
I disliked being inside.

I had to hug the walls and stay away from the flow of people movement. I was allowed to view classified things which have specific classifications. One room was subdued from excessive light as I choose to look down to the floor on purpose. I guess I did that on purpose or directed. I did look up at specific times. As I entered the darkened room. I just looked down and I saw the floor. I'm not sure if it was carpeted or hard. The floor was even a dark type of maybe multiple dark colors. I thought military dark places used red lights. I did not notice red lighting in darkened rooms.

The bridge if that is the actual name of the control room where the officers stand or are seated or running around. I was in awe of everything. Watching heroes doing their mundane average everyday ordinary heroic duties as defined by this lowly janitor.

I sat alone in the cafeteria. A few people would come by and ask if I was CIA or some other intelligence agency. I would say No or nope. I'm just the or a janitor..... Really.... yea nobody of real importance, like you.

I even talked with a few pilots. They were mostly not accepting of me. Well, they have their pride and to have personal contact with a lowly janitor. Well, it would be beneath them. I even expressed that to one and how it was important to see the lowly as human beings worthy of your attention. Especially, those who take care of the plane that keeps you alive. It is not just your skill, talents, physical and mental gifts. Your just a running back on the football team. It is the lineman who causes you to be the hero of the team. Everyone else must do their job better than the minimum standard. In order for you to be the hero of the game. But, then again, You have to keep yourself above the minimum standard. Because, if your men who care for you see you lacking and slacking. Then your actions alone give them all permission to do as you do. This is not to be confused with you admitting (by action and maybe humorous words) that your also a deeply flawed human being just like everyone else.
As a child I knew of these very brilliant men. The kind of men who thought Mensa was an embarrassment/insult. They were some messed up people. All with their own faults and failings. Guess what? Those are the same men and women who thought up the stuff you fly and the missiles you shoot. While on a thousand plus foot steal ship that isn't stable. That you get catapulted from and land back on. Yea, A whole level of cray cray in and of itself.

I began to work out with the physically lacking crew. At the very lowest level of physical fitness. Apparently my physical issues were known and the super athletic in charge person teased me about them in very adult ways as well as my age.

How many Universal Missile Cells can be placed in the ship if the flight deck was removed? That is what I saw, just now. Then by building at least twenty sea worthy versions. One for each Aircraft carrier. Then Command on every Aircraft Carrier would have total control/authority over those Universal Missile Cells.

I was on a Aircraft carrier and I was escorted deep into the bowels of that carrier. Yea, I'm still lost and have no idea what is which and where is what again. I was escorted to another dark room and noticed some technology and the large elephant. Yep, A welded to the ship nuclear bomb. One in which could be detonated when the ship was taken or towed to a major enemy port. How would they know or all communications would have to be blocked by the enemy?
I saw an aircraft carrier dead and taken by enemy forces. It was a blood bath and the enemy lost more men and yet the ship was still taken. Then I saw multiple nuclear explosive events over shadowing each other.  I saw the ship emerge from the fire ball by being towed and led away by enemy ships and then exploding again. I saw the ship in an enemy naval harbor and then exploding. The ship may be one or many. I do not know. The nuclear detonations can be just the decision making process of when to detonate. Which is why the many over lays is probabilities.
The big knowing is China takes your ship or ships. What kind and how many? I do not know. I just know that the aircraft carrier or carriers explode.

Phalanx CIWS Mini Component: (Unedited): 16-21 Feb 2018:

Over this past weekend. I had a military air defense vision. I saw a mini Phalanx type CIWS system mounted on a trailer. Most likely based on the 7.62 NATO or .308 civilian round. While the talk from the suits is for lasers to defeat everything. I do not think lasers will work as intended as of yet. Not enough power. Simply because, you cannot spend hardly any time frying a single drone. Swarms of drones are going to come at your base or ship which has been selected for attack. How many swarm drones are going to come at you. Hundreds or thousands? I would suppose that would be dependent on how crucial killing your facility or ship is to the enemy. Drones will probably be used to knock (Attrition Attacks) out your communications antennas, sensors, Radar systems and self defense capabilities. Then the cruise missiles will come in and the human piloted craft to finish off the job or to report to send the troops in to capture.
I didn't write anything down to get a digital date stamp. So my bad. But, I did wake up this morning after having multiple dreams of various systems around a future world at war. Yes, the whole world will be at war as no one is seeking any peace with any adversary. Which means in the end the human population will become extinct. Yes, China is still the trigger. Which starts it all. The big question is. Who will be the intelligence which squeezes China? Will China just do it their self? As they have made a military leapfrog. But, will it be enough? I hope they thoroughly research WW2 Nazi Germany. Nazi Germany owned the top ten in many if not every category and yet they still lost badly.

I saw a sudden burst of a variety of drone specific air defense systems. All networked into each of their main computer systems. Sensor and RADAR fusion. Which all works as one and in every nation which is actively upgrading and modernizing their war machines. Each will be successful in their own ways. Virtually all of the anti-drone systems will be bullet based defenses. I saw systems on top of buildings, on trailers, on trucks. But, not on armored carriers (Not sure why). So the laser can take it's time to destroy the singular target. The USA Brass must get out of this mindset. For right now, The USA can build a mini Phalanx CIWS. Which can be placed on ships and connected to the Aegis system. You have to protect each ship from hundreds and thousands of attrition attack (AA) drones. Each AA drone will seek out sensors and RADAR pictures. Drones will be weapons on the war of attrition. Then comes the missiles and then the troops or planes. Especially once your ships and bases are defenseless. You Naval brass! Can you imagine your enemy capturing an entire Aircraft Carrier Battle Group? The propaganda against you specifically. Would you sink those captured ships with your attack submarines? Knowing that your men and women are held hostage and still alive?
I saw the top of a security shed. In each corner it had a sensor dome of some kind. In the middle of the small roof sat the .308 minigun variant. Most of the space for the weapon was in the space made for all of the bullet belt. Tens of thousands of rounds contained. The tracking and elevation mechanism seemed fast. All of the sensor and RADAR data went right into the Aegis system. Then it went active in a test. Seven drones coming in at different altitudes, headings and angles. Then I saw and heard short duration Brrt, then another Brrt, Then another Brrt all in rapid succession. Until all seven drones were destroyed. The entire event was very quick and a 100% kill rate. But, they were all straight flying drones. No crazy drones or swirling drone clouds or ground hugging multi-speed hide and seek drones were used.
I saw a dark place which also had a bulky mini CIWS system. It was a stand alone. Close to a giant RADAR and a command building (Russian OTHR sites). Mostly outlying and alone. It looked ugly and loud. (It seems Russia likes bulky). Everything made lots of noise. It had a remote control aspect to it and a surrender switch. So that the computer system would have full control. This dark system had a combined use to it. It was meant to defend against both drone and human targets. Then I saw many dark squares in outlying areas. Which seemed random placements. They were loud and not just the gun.
Each exposed system will have a singular weakness. The sniper. This is the second time I write about the sniper in regards to modern day war machines. The sniper will also be used to cause attrition against Modern Main Battle Tanks and all of their exposed sensors.

I had another vision in regards to the mini Phalanx CIWS anti-drone system. I saw a full sized Phalanx CIWS on the top center of a tall building Then at a lower level on all four corners were the Mini Phalanx systems.
I saw the leading edge of a Ford class Air Craft Carrier. It had a place for short range missiles, A Phalanx and two mini Phalanx Anti-drone CIWS on a lower level. This vision must be in the future as the front edge of the Ford only has the missile launcher on one side. There was also a lot more defensive assets or weapons or something different blurred out in my vision.
I also saw or knew that the Ford Class Carrier became wider at the water line. by how much? Uncertain maybe 6+ feet wider. I think it is also related to all of the stuff placed on the deck side of the ship. Plus new things on the inside of the ship. Which to me shows up as an electrical fog. Which is very different than the blurred out as written above. Could this be related to China's new leap frog weapon? Was there an event or will there be an event in which the USA was humiliated or embarrassed or both? (Hint: Prevention. Once a thing is known all aspects of the future can be altered, mitigated and or prevented). Assuming one takes proactive action. Which means everything I write can be a pipe dream.
I saw in a vision a video of a broad side test fire on a helpless drone target ship. All weapons on the side of the Ford Air Craft carrier all were able to launch or fire on that single target. I was intimerdated just watching the video in a vision. Then I saw a dozen slow and straight going ship target drones. One broadside shot and all targets flamed and smoked.
I just saw that ship numbers 2 and 3 are already being built.

I did not include India as they are still foggy in who they will turn to. My bet as of today will be with Russia and China. Once China and India make happy friend time. The US Navy is going to have a very real problem with attrition level damage to such a degree that ships may become captured instead of just sunk. 
I just watched a video of a very recent firing of the Phalanx CIWS. Did you know that the bullets are exposed? This really surprised me as why did I not notice this before. All gun systems must be enclosed and protected against drone attacks carrying a specific amount of explosives. Coverings must be added and when close to the edge of a ship. The railing should be solid steel. This is necessary to protect the Phalanx mechanical's of the weapon system.

Israeli Iron Dome and all other American Air defense systems overwhelmed. The Iron Dome must evolve. The Iron Dome system must more than quadruple the number of launchers used. The Iron Dome system as well as many others must become interoperable with each other. New systems like a Phalanx CIWS Mini Component must also be created. 
When you have a system where small calibers are used for cheap drones. Your expense goes down while your own survivability goes up. And I think we're now finding something important in this archive: your naval series isn't really a collection of ship designs. It's a record of the evolution of a design philosophy.
